Cabship – Turnkey Solutions in Project Cargo and Integrated Logistics

December 14, 2021

An Angolan leader in oil and gas logistics services, Cabinda Shipping Services (Cabship) offers shipping services for liner and petroleum vessels as well as providing material management services both onshore and offshore and oilfield supplies.

Cabship has more than 12 years of experience delivering turnkey solutions in project cargo and integrated logistics to various industries such as mining, energy, construction and power.

With offices in Cabinda, Soyo and Luanda, the company is a local success story, with active contracts to support offshore operations for Chevron in block 0 and 14  and for BP in blocks 18 and 31.  Founded in 2009, today Cabship counts more than 400 employees.

2021 has been a banner year for the company, as in August it signed a key contract with BP to supply material management services for offshore blocks 18 and 31.

The three-year contract has a 1+1 option. Its scope involves managing drilling materials warehouses, inventories, chemicals and lay-down areas, both onshore and offshore.

“We are confident about our warehouse material management solutions we can offer to companies like BP to optimise their warehousing space and help them save costs,” Cabship CEO João Filipe told The Energy Year earlier this year.

“That allows them to focus on their core business, which is E&P.”

In a press release announcing the contract, the company also lauded BP in its efforts to support the growth of Angola’s local players.

“We would like to encourage BP for its local content commitment. As an Angolan indigenous services company, we are eager to see the local content Law Nº 271/2020 gaining momentum,” Filipe said.
