Global forwarding and freight is DHL’s largest business line. Utilising a global network and around 50,000 employees, DHL brokers transport services between customers and freight carriers. Services include standardised air, ocean and overland transportation, multimodal and sector-specific delivery and handling, and customised industrial solutions.
The Express division’s core activity is the transportation of urgent documents and goods from door to door, within and across national borders. DHL provides scheduling and customs clearance as well as industry-specific services, such as temperature-controlled deliveries for healthcare and life sciences customers. Air freight is handled by multiple airlines, some of which are owned by the group.
The supply chain division offers custom logistics services including warehousing, transportation, e-fulfilment, packaging and returns management. DHL offers both one-off and modular services that can be scaled to match customers’ volume requirements.
E-commerce services are primarily last-mile domestic deliveries in selected countries in Europe and Asia, as well as in the US, and cross-border services from and within Europe. DHL serves a mix of B2C and B2B customers in a broad range of sectors.
Deutsche Post is Europe’s largest postal company. It offers private and business services including transportation, sorting and delivery of documents and goods within Germany, and export services worldwide. Other services include registered mail, cash on delivery and insured deliveries.
