Gulf Drilling International

Gulf Drilling International (GDI) is the first and main offshore and onshore drilling company in Qatar. Established as a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Japan Drilling Co. in 2004, GDI became a 100% Qatari-owned company in 2014 and is currently located in Doha’s West Bay. As of 2024, GDI operates 20 rigs.

In its operations, GDI strives for efficiency, safety and the best support services.

  • Safety: GDI has a goal to achieve zero work injuries and zero damage to equipment.
  • Support services: GDI provides a number of support services, including a central warehouse, a workshop and an accommodation facility.
