In Gabon, Perenco’s highest-producing market, the company produces 120,000 boepd of oil and gas. The company’s work in the country is further set to greatly expand, with a new USD 1-billion LNG facility greenlit in 2023. The facility will have the capacity to produce 20,000 tonnes of LPG per year and 700,000 tonnes of LNG per year.
Sustainability is at the core of Perenco’s decisions. Consequently, the company is transitioning away from oil towards gas, in accordance with the energy transition strategies of the countries in which it operates. In 2024, 75% of its production is oil and 25% is gas. Perenco will continue to locally invest in gas production and the development of gas markets.
