The sale, which will see Bass operate a prospective licence near the Ujung Pangkah and Bukit Tua producing fields, is subject to regulatory approvals.
“The North Madura PSC provides mid- to long-term substance to Bass’ expanding portfolio of exploration and producing oil assets in Indonesia,” Bass managing director Tino Guglielmo said.
The news came days after international media reported that Ophir Energy may have discovered gas in the Paus Biru-1 exploration well in the Sampang PSC offshore Indonesia. Evaluation of the well results continues, Upstream Online reported.
