BP joins ranks in dumping ALEC

USA

A BP spokesman further stated, “We continually assess our engagements with policy and advocacy organizations and based on our most recent assessment, we have determined that we can effectively pursue policy matters of current interest to BP without renewing our membership in ALEC.”

BP follows a long line of other high-profile companies that have decided not to renew their membership following a claim made by the group that denying human impact on climate change. Last year, tech companies Google, Yahoo, eBay, Yelp have also opted out of ALEC. Oil and gas exploration company Occidental Petroleum (Oxy) and multinational energy corporation ConocoPhillips have also left ALEC.
