CNC plant to see USD 100-mln upgrade

The Caribbean Nitrogen Company (CNC) has slated USD 100 million for upgrade and maintenance works at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate’s N2000 plant in Couva, local media reported.

The works are expected to generate hundreds of temporary jobs, the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian newspaper said.

On April 1, 2018, the CNC and National Gas Company signed a long-term gas sales agreement allowing the latter to reopen its other ammonia plant at Point Lisas. The plant had shut down in January due to inadequate gas supplies from the National Gas Company.
