Eni Congo floats first tender for Marine XII platforms
Republic of Congo Eni has purchased three refurbished platforms from the US, while the fabrication and installation of the decks are expected to take place in Pointe Noire, Congo. The find – close to 1.2 billion barrels of oil – was made through three wells drilled between August 2013 and February 2014. The last of the three wells flowed at more than 5,000 barrels of oil per day.
According to Eni management, initial production from the recent discovery is expected to begin in 2014 and will ramp up in 2015.
