Eni signs deals for energy transition projects in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, met with Kazakhstani President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Askar Mamin and agreed to develop local projects beyond the company’s two wind farms and solar plant, which have a combined capacity of 150 MW.
Eni is the joint operator of the Karachaganak gasfield and owns shares in assets in the north of the Caspian Sea. The company is in the process of building a 50-MW solar plant in the southern region. The company has been in Kazakhstan since 1992.
