Eq Guinea, Cameroon team to develop gas

The governments of Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon signed a MoU on the joint development of the Yoyo-Yolanda gas and condensate field Monday.
As part of the agreement, the governments recognised the Yoyo and Yolanda discoveries as a single resource and will next negotiate the unitisation of the field. The two sides began a data exchange in October 2016.
“We have a proud history of developing our resources quickly and efficiently, and the signing of this agreement is another demonstration of that,” said Equatoguinean Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima. “Our partners in Cameroon share our ambition to rapidly bring the Yoyo-Yolanda field to production and to maximize the value from our nations’ abundant resources. I am excited about a fast-track approach on this project.”
The resources, which lie directly across the border from each other, were discovered in 2007. Noble Energy EG operates Block I, the Equatoguinean side of the field, and Noble Energy Cameroon operates the Yoyo Block in Cameroon.
