FEED works begin on Australia’s Otway play

Australia
Cooper Energy and partner Mitsui E&P have begun FEED works on the third phase of the Otway subsea development, the Australian upstream entity announced on Wednesday.

The project involves installing new subsea equipment on the offshore Henry and Annie gasfields and installing a 32.6-kilometre pipeline that will connect to the onshore Athena gas plant.

Completion is expected in 2022, including negotiation of new gas sales agreements.

“Low-risk exploration targets will be assessed for potential value enhancement of the Otway Basin development program,” said David Maxwell, managing director of Cooper Energy.
