Genel to develop Kurdistan fields

Genel Energy has outlined plans to develop the Bina Bawi and Miran fields in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the company announced in its H1 results on Tuesday.

“The field development plan for Bina Bawi oil has now been completed, and is set to be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources,” the company said.

“A field development plan regarding Bina Bawi gas is set to be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources around the end of Q3 2018, with one for the Miran field around the end of the year.”

Across its KRI assets, the company expects to work on 11 wells in H2 2018, the announcement added. Genel also posted an H1 profit of USD 59.3 million, more than double the USD 23.5 million earned during the same period last year.
