In September 2017, the Special Chamber of the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea ruled that the TEN fields lay on Ghana’s side of the maritime border with Côte d’Ivoire, allowing Tullow Oil to resume drilling activities there.
“Since the ruling, we’ve added one more well adding up to eleven, and we will be drilling more to boost production towards plateau in 2020,” Reuters quoted Lumor as saying.
The Deepwater Tano block, which covers an area of 558 square kilometres and contains part of the Jubilee field, is home to the TEN oil and gasfields, which are being developed collectively with one FPSO. The fields are located approximately 60 kilometres offshore western Ghana and 25 kilometres from the Jubilee field.
