Indonesia puts three oil and gas blocks on offer

Indonesia has put three exploration blocks on offer in its third oil and gas bid round in 2023, Reuters reported on Wednesday.

The first two onshore concessions, Akimeugah I and Akimeugah II, are located between the South Papua and Papua Mountains provinces and each contain an estimated 15 billion boe of gas reserves.

The third block, Bobara, is located off the coast of the province of West Papua and has estimated oil and gas reserves of 6.8 billion boe.

The country launched its second oil and gas bid round in July 2023, which included the Natuna D-Alpha exploration block located in the East Natuna gasfield.

East Natuna holds estimated resources of 6.51 tcm (230 tcf) of gas.

Bids for the second oil and gas round are ongoing.

In April 2023, the country put three plays on offer in its first bid round of the year.

Indonesia aims to put 10 oil and gas concessions on offer in 2023.
