Iran starts new heavy crude production

TEHRAN, May 28, 2018 – Iran has put on stream a new production line of extra heavy oil from the South and North Azadegan fields, local agency Fars News reported on Monday.

The new line, with API gravity of 20, is one of eight different types of crude Iran now produces, the report added.

The news came a day after Mehr News reported that Iran’s gas condensate exports from the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone had gone up 149% in May despite the threat of US sanctions.
