JGC and Rekayasa Industri net contract

Pertamina awarded a USD 747-million gas plant construction contract to Japan’s JGC and its partner Rekayasa Industri, an Indonesian firm, on Monday.

The contract covers the construction of an onshore gas processing plant for the island nation’s Jambaran-Tiung Biru gas project, located in East Java’s Bojonegoro area.

Once completed, the plant will have a daily processing capacity of around 9.35 mcm (330 mcf) of natural gas with 1% hydrogen sulfide and 34% carbon dioxide content. The resulting production of sales gas, condensates and other associates is expected to reach 4.87 mcm (172 mcf) per day.

Sales gas has been earmarked for Indonesia’s state-owned electric power company, PLN.
