Kuwait to launch $8.2-mln refinery tender

The Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation is preparing to float a tender worth KWD 2.5 million (USD 8.24 million) for the supply of spare parts for gas turbines and compressors at the country’s Mina Al Ahmadi refinery.

The tender will be launched on June 17, Zawya cited sources as saying in a report published on Monday.

The supply contract is linked to the start-up of the refinery’s fourth and fifth gas pipelines, the report said.

The Mina Al Ahmadi refinery is undergoing a programme of modernisation known as the Clean Fuel Project, which also includes the Mina Abdullah refinery within its scope. The project is expected to see a total investment of USD 12 billion and will be complete in the second half of this year.
