Mubadala Petroleum names new CEO

On Sunday, Mubadala Petroleum named Bakheet Al Katheeri as its new CEO. Al Katheeri succeeds Musabbeh Al Kaabi, who will go on to lead the petroleum and petrochemicals portfolio of Mubadala Investment Company upon the newly formed entity’s commencement in May.

With 18 years in the oil and gas industry, Al Katheeri moves to the position of CEO after serving as the company’s chief growth officer, a position he held after managing production and facilities engineering for five of ADNOC’s operating companies.

Mubadala Petroleum manages the upstream oil and gas assets of its parent company, Mubadala Development Company. In June 2016, it was announced that Mubadala Development Company would merge with International Petroleum Investment Company to form Mubadala Investment Company, with combined financial assets of around USD 135 billion
