Oman still on track for 1 million bopd

Oman remains on track for keeping average 2016 production above 1 million bopd, data from the National Center for Statistical Information released on Sunday revealed.

Measured over the first 11 months of the year, average output was recorded at 1,005,100 bopd, up 2.7% over 2015. Export were up too, rising by 4.9% to 296.4 million barrels over the mentioned period. The majority, 77%, was shipped to China.

Achieving average annual output of more than 1 million bopd would mark a first for Oman, which has seen production steadily increase from 777,000 bopd in 2005 to 952,000 bopd in 2015, according to the BP Statistical Review 2016.
