Pertamina to expand tanker fleet

Local yards Anggrek Hitam, Daya Radar Utama and Multi Ocean have been selected for the project. Commenting on the work, Daya Radar Utama business development director Steven Angga Prana pointed to benefits for the Indonesian job market, saying the company would need “as many as 1,500 workers” for three tankers.
Manufacturing will begin by the end of 2016, with first deliveries expected by year-end 2018. With the addition of eight new tankers, each almost 160 m in length, Petramina’s fleet will number 64 vessels.
