Peshkabir output up two-thirds: DNO

Output from Peshkabir field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has increased by 67% to 25,000 bopd after the Peshkabir-4 well was put on production, operator DNO announced on Tuesday.

An additional well, Peshkabir-5, is expected to raise production above 30,000 bopd next month, while two other wells, Peshkabir-6 and Peshkabir-7, are currently being drilled.

“The pickup in Peshkabir production puts new meaning to the fast in fast track in development of this field by the DNO team,” said DNO’s executive chairman, Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani, in a statement. “And we expect Peshkabir to continue to surprise to the upside.”

DNO holds a 75% operating stake in the field, which came on stream last year, alongside partner Genel Energy (25%).
