QatarEnergy signs condensate supply deal with Mitsui

QatarEnergy has agreed to supply Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co with up to 11 million barrels of gas condensate per annum for 10 years, the Qatari NOC announced on Sunday.

The deal was made with Mitsui & Co’s wholly-owned subsidiary Mitsui & Co. Energy Trading Singapore.

Deliveries are expected to begin in April 2024.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of this long-term sales agreement with one of our strategic Japanese partners, solidifying our decades-long relationship with Mitsui,” said Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar’s minister of state for energy affairs and president and CEO of QatarEnergy.

The agreement includes an option to increase condensate volumes as QatarEnergy’s North Field East and North Field South expansion projects are commissioned.
