Saipem lands Liza contract in Guyana

EPC company Saipem has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil for work on the Liza phase two development offshore Guyana, international media reported Tuesday.

The Italian firm will be responsible for EPCI works for the field’s jumpers, flowlines, risers and associated structures, as well as the transport and installation of subsea infrastructure for production, gas and water injection systems.

Liza was the first of eight discoveries in the Stabroek block, estimated to contain up to 4 billion boe in reserves. Phase two production will entail a second FPSO and is expected to begin in H1 2022 through 35-40 wells, bringing overall field output to 220,000 bopd.
