SDX in Morocco gas find

Morocco
SDX Energy has struck gas in Morocco, the North Africa-focused E&P company said on Wednesday.

The KSR-14 development well in the Sebou permit in northeast Morocco, in which SDX holds a 75% stake, encountered around 20 metres of conventional gas deposits, according to a company statement. The news came days after SDX announced an oil find in the Rabul-2 well in the West Gharib concession in Egypt.

“This positive result follows the Company’s recent oil discovery at our West Gharib Concession in Egypt and demonstrates the real momentum developing across our portfolio,” said CEO Paul Welch. “This outcome in Morocco is an excellent start to our nine well programme, where we are targeting an increase in our local gas sales volumes in Morocco by up to 50%.”

The KSR-14 well is expected to begin production in about a month, the press release added.
