SDX in new Morocco gas find

Morocco
SDX Energy has made a new gas discovery in Morocco, the company announced on Monday.

The KSR-15 development well struck 17.2 metres of net conventional gas pay, the North Africa-focused E&P company announced a month after making a similar discovery in the KSR-14 well. Both wells were drilled in the Sebou permit, in which SDX holds a 75% stake.

“We are pleased to be announcing another successful result from our Moroccan drilling campaign, as we continue to build real momentum with this programme,” CEO Paul Welch said in a statement. “These first two successful wells keep moving us closer to achieving our target of increasing local gas sales volumes in Morocco by up to 50% in 2018.”

The discovery also came on the heels of a gas find in the West Gharib concession in Egypt, announced in early October 2017.
