Seatrium delivers Greece’s first FSRU for gas gateway

Seatrium has delivered Greece’s first FSRU to Greek LNG fleet owner GasLog LNG Services, the Singapore-based shipbuilding and repair company announced on Monday.

The 155,000-cubic-metre Alexandroupolis FSRU will be deployed 17 kilometres southwest of the Port of Alexandroupolis in northern Greece.

The vessel has completed its near shore testing and will now undergo its final gas commissioning.

The Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System project involves creating an energy gateway for gas delivery into Southeastern Europe.

Seatrium’s scope of work on the development includes refurbishment and life extension works and EPCFI of a new regasification skid, boilers and electrical and automation systems.

The vessel is expected to be owned and managed by energy consortium Gastrade.

Seatrium (formerly Sembcorp Marine) converted the world’s first FPSO in 1981, the world’s first FSRU in 2008 and the world’s first FLNG in 2017.
