SOCAR, Congo discuss oil and gas co-operation

Representatives of Azerbaijan’s SOCAR and the Republic of Congo have met to discuss co-operation in the field of oil and gas, the Azerbaijani NOC announced on Tuesday.

SOCAR took the opportunity to provide information on its global energy operations and partnerships.

Topics discussed included the trading of oil and oil products and the development of human resources. The Republic of Congo is aiming to expand its refining capacity as part of efforts to diversify its economy.

Present at the meeting was the Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso’s personal representative for strategic issues and international co-operation, Françoise Jolie.

SOCAR is active in the areas of petrochemicals, refining, logistics, natural gas, energy and fibre technologies. The company’s presence in Africa includes a trading company in Nigeria.
