Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas wins Abu Dhabi deal

Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC has awarded a contract to Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas to supply FEED services for a linear alkyl benzene (LAB) plant in the emirate, the NOC announced on Tuesday.

The award was made jointly with ADNOC’s partner in the project, Cepsa. The LAB facility will be located in the Ruwais Derivatives Park, the company said.

Abu Dhabi is developing a refining and petrochemicals mega-complex in Ruwais. In May, ADNOC announced a USD 45-billion investment in downstream from 2018-2023. In the same month, the NOC awarded Cepsa a contract for the construction of a 150,000-tonne-per-year LAB unit at Ruwais.
