Technip to work on Oseberg Vestflanken

Norway
Norway’s Statoil has awarded Technip’s wholly owned subsidiary Technip Umbilicals a contract for the supply of umbilicals to the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 field, the French engineering and construction firm announced on Wednesday.

The project involves management, engineering and manufacturing of 9 km of static steel tube umbilical, including a large-bore integrated service line and several power cables. The components will be manufactured at Technip’s plant in Newcastle, England. The venture is expected to finish at the beginning of 2017.

The Oseberg Vestflanken 2 project is an unmanned wellhead platform with 10 well slots, with plans to use two other existing subsea wells. A pipeline will carry the drilled hydrocarbons to the constructed Oseberg field centre. Production is planned for the end of 2019.
