TechnipFMC signs subsea contract in Angola

TechnipFMC has been awarded engineering works for TotalEnergies’ life extension project at the Girassol field in Angola, the London-based technology provider announced on Monday.

The contract covers engineering, procurement and supply of flowlines and connectors.

The installed flexible pipes will bypass the rigid pipeline bundles constructed before production began in 2001.

The contract is worth between USD 75 million and USD 250 million.

The offshore field is located on Block 17, which is operated by TotalEnergies EP Angola with a 38% stake.

Partners on the project are Equinor with a 22.16% stake, ExxonMobil with a 19% stake, BP with a 15.84% stake and Sonangol with the remaining 5% stake.

The play was discovered in 1996 and was the site of TotalEnergies’ first FPSO in Angola.
