Doris, Hyundai win offshore wind FEED works

South Korea
A consortium consisting of Doris and South Korean engineering giant Hyundai Heavy Industries have been awarded a FEED contract for the Ulsan Gray Whale 3 offshore wind farm project in South Korea, the French engineering company announced on Thursday.

The contract involves the design, procurement and installation of floaters and their station keeping systems, the procurement, laying and connecting of the inter-array cables to the floaters and activities related to the integration of the turbines on the floaters.

The Ulsan Gray Whale 3 project is a 504-MW floating windfarm located 60-70 kilometres from Onsan Port in Ulsan, South Korea.

The development is part of three offshore wind projects promoted by energy giant TotalEnergies and international wind company Corio Generation in South Korea, including the Ulsan Gray Whale 1 and Ulsan Gray Whale 2 facilities, that combined will have an installed capacity of 1.5 GW.
