The company expects to drill and log the well within 45 days.
The production well follows the Royston-1 exploration well, drilled in 2021 to 3,261 metres (10,700 feet), which identified more than 305 metres (1,000 feet) of Herrera section in the overthrust and intermediate sheets, encountering light, sweet crude oil in both.
As part of its strategy for the game-changing Ortoire block, Touchstone is targeting a turbidite deposit in the Herrera formation.
In October, the company started up production at its Coho gas facility, also onshore Trinidad.
“Following our recent capital raise, we are excited for 2023 as we commence our latest drilling programme,” Touchstone president Paul Baay said.
