TT official presents sustainability plan

The document will work as a roadmap towards transitioning the island nation’s economy away from a hydrocarbons-based energy system. “In light of the many changes in the local and international energy sphere, we are obligated to take appropriate steps to transition our energy systems,” Olivierre said during the ceremony.
Tangible benchmarks in the plan include short-term and long-term efforts to be undertaken with a goal of reaching the country’s target of an energy mix composed of 10% renewable energy by 2021 and a 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
