Under the terms of the two-year contract, Wood Group will provide operation and maintenance services for PetroRio’s Polvo A platform, which is located 100 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Wood Group recently completed a previous contract for the Polvo field early last year for integrity management support.
Located in the Campos Basin, the Polvo field spans 134 square kilometres and has a fixed production and drilling platform connected to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
PetroRio has a 60-percent stake in the field but gained approval in December 2015 from Brazil’s national oil regulator to acquire the remaining interest.
