Woodside plans US hydrogen facility

USA
Woodside has signed an MoU with hydrogen vehicle supplier Hyzon Motors as part of its plans to build a hydrogen facility in Oklahoma, the Australian energy producer announced on Tuesday.

The H20K project will begin with the construction of a 290-MW power generation facility that will produce up to 90 tonnes per day of hydrogen for the heavy transport sector.

The 380,000-square-metre site in Ardmore, Oklahoma, has the capacity to expand production capacity to 550 MW and 180 tonnes per day of hydrogen.

The facility will have net zero carbon emissions.

“H2OK would be located in a highly prospective part of the US market, close to national highways and the supply chain infrastructure of major companies that have signalled their interest in securing reliable, affordable and lower carbon energy,” said Meg O’Neill, CEO for Woodside.
