Enoc awards Jebel Ali contract
DUBAI, April 10, 2017 – The Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) told journalists on Monday that it had contracted local company Rotary Engineering to build 12 storage tanks at the Jebel Ali refinery.
The units add 450,000 cubic metres in storage capacity, and can hold jet fuel, naphtha and fuel blends. The planned tanks are an integral part of the USD 1-billion expansion of the refinery, managed by lead contractor TechnipFMC.
Announced last year, the USD 1-billion project aims to expand its capacity from 140,000 bpd to 210,000 bpd. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
“This [upgrade] will help us address the needs of the market and wider industry, which has witnessed considerable changes in recent times,” Enoc CEO Saif Al Falasi told The National newspaper on Monday upon the announcement of the award.
“We will continue to invest in key infrastructure projects to meet this constant growth.”
