Petralon Energy

Petralon Energy is a Nigerian E&P company established in 2014 to acquire, develop, finance and operate oil and gas assets across Africa. Headquartered in Lagos, with an operational base in Port Harcourt, the company leverages financial, technical and regional expertise to fast-track assets to production.

Operated asset: Petralon holds a 100% interest in the Dawes Island field (PPL 259) in the Eastern Niger Delta. The company is executing a five-well development programme to scale production from around 400 bopd to 2,300 bopd by mid-2025, and up to 4,300 bopd within six months. Rig contracts and funding are in place.

Non-operated interests: Through a 6.06% indirect stake in Prime Oil & Gas Coöperatief, Petralon has exposure to offshore producing assets operated by Chevron and TotalEnergies:

• 8% of PML 52 (formerly OML 127)
• 16% across PMLs 2, 3, 4 and PPL 261 (formerly part of OML 130)

Strategy: Petralon targets shallow-water and swamp assets with near-term production potential. Its capital-efficient approach avoids early-stage exploration and focuses on scalable assets. The company is actively evaluating acquisition opportunities, including potential IOC divestments.

Energy transition: Under its 2030 strategy, Petralon is developing a gas-to-power project using 344 mcf per day of associated gas from Dawes Island. This will support field operations, provide power to nearby communities, and enable gas lift for improved oil recovery.
