Halliburton wins drilling work for Suriname’s GranMorgu

PARAMARIBO, July 15, 2026 – Halliburton has secured integrated drilling and completions contracts to support the long-term well construction programme for the GranMorgu deepwater project offshore Suriname, the company announced on Monday.

Under the scope of the contracts, Halliburton will deliver drilling and completions services with digital workflows and remote operations, as well as infrastructure upgrades.

The GranMorgu oil project is located approximately 150 kilometres offshore Suriname in Block 58. It targets the Sapakara and Krabdagu fields, which are estimated to hold nearly 760 million barrels of recoverable reserves. The project is operated by TotalEnergies with a 40% interest, alongside partners APA Corporation (40%) and Staatsolie (20%).

The GranMorgu project demonstrates how aligned teams and advanced well construction capabilities support delivery and maximise asset value for our customers,” said Halliburton vice-president, Caribbean, Franco Delano.

Halliburton said it would prioritise domestic talent development and procurement from local suppliers. The project is the first global collaboration between Halliburton, TotalEnergies and Noble.

Halliburton is a global oilfield services company that provides drilling, well construction, completions, production and digital technologies in more than 70 countries. In Suriname, the company supports offshore hydrocarbons development through integrated well services.
