Number of employees: More than 6,000

2023 rig count:50

Arabian Drilling Company is a specialist in both onshore and offshore drilling for oil and gas. The company has been drilling since 1964 and has a history of innovation in drilling safety and efficiency.
As of 2023, the company had 50 rigs, up from 35 in 2017. It continues to undergo expansion as the demand for rigs in Saudi Arabia and the region increases. Its rig fleet is able to handle many types of complicated drilling operations.

Its fleet includes:

  • Medium to ultra-heavy rigs for onshore
  • Ultra-heavy-duty jack ups for offshore

Arabian Drilling has committed itself to Saudisation and the Saudi Vision 2030. It has been recognised for its contributions in this regard, having won several awards. For the future, the company intends to play an important role in Saudi Arabia’s unconventional drilling projects, such as the Jafurah unconventional gas project. With the upstream in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expanding, this will make it possible for the company to invest even more in new rigs, and it also seeks to expand beyond Saudi Arabia, both organically and through acquisitions.
