NESSCO has several partnerships with international companies through which it acquires expertise and technology, while the partners benefit from working with an experienced local player with a successful track record in the Nigerian oil and gas market. One of the most important is a joint venture with Technomak called Technomak New Energy Services Limited (TNES) where NESSCO is the majority shareholder. The company has a goal of becoming a full-fledged EPC company for the onshore and offshore sectors of Nigeria, building on Technomak’s experience in the Middle East, Africa, the Far East, Europe and India. The JV provides the expertise, equipment and finance to form a leading EPCM player in Nigeria, and it has already participated in tenders for projects with Shell, Chevron and ExxonMobil.
As part of the company’s sustainable growth strategy, it has created a division called NESSCO Lab whose goal is to incorporate the latest technology and business practices into NESSCO’s operations. The lab is focused on improving the company’s business intelligence and HSE strategy to bring these to the highest international levels. One aim is the digitisation of operations, for example by remote monitoring of cranes. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its fabrication capacity through a workshop for mostly EPC offshore contracts. The goal of this strategy is to cater to the expected increase of IOC offshore operations.
