ADNOC awards $548-million pipeline contract
ADNOC has signed an EPC contract with local engineering entity National Petroleum Construction Company to build the main gas pipeline for the Lower Zakum expansion project, the Emirati NOC announced on Monday.

The new 85-kilometre pipeline will run from the Zakum West Super Complex to Das Island and support a rise in the field’s output of associated gas from 12.2 mcm (430 mcf) per day to 19.8 mcm (700 mcf) per day and oil to 450,000 bpd.

The expansion project is expected to be complete in 2025.

In line with the country’s In-Country Value programme, 75% of the cost for the expansion will remain within the local economy.
