ADNOC Gas signs LNG trade deal with Japan

ABU DHABI, August 17, 2023 – ADNOC Gas has signed a five-year LNG supply agreement with Japan Petroleum Exploration Company (JAPEX), the Emirati gas company announced on Thursday.

The agreement is valued between USD 450 million and USD 550 million.

Trade volumes were not disclosed.

 

“Japan is one of the UAE’s largest and most important energy partners and we are very pleased to strengthen this relationship through this LNG supply agreement with JAPEX,” said Ahmed Alebri, CEO of ADNOC Gas.

“The agreement reinforces ADNOC Gas’ position as a global LNG export partner of choice and highlights the company’s growing global presence, particularly in the Asian LNG market.”

ADNOC Gas recently signed major LNG supply deals, including a three-year contract with TotalEnergies signed in May 2023 and a 14-year contract with India signed in July 2023.

ADNOC established ADNOC Gas in January 2023 as a separate entity to oversee its gas operations.
