ADNOC signs 15-year LNG supply deal with EnBW

ABU DHABI, May 9, 2024 – ADNOC has signed a 15-year heads of agreement for the supply of 600,000 tpy of LNG to German energy company EnBW, the companies announced on Wednesday.

The LNG will primarily be sourced from ADNOC’s Ruwais LNG complex, currently under development in Abu Dhabi. Deliveries are expected to start in 2028 upon the commencement of the plant’s commercial operations.

This is ADNOC’s third long-term LNG supply contract for the Ruwais LNG project. The company had previously signed deals with China’s ENN Natural Gas and Germany’s SEFE Securing Energy for Europe, both for a minimum of 1 million tpy for 15 years starting in 2028.

The Ruwais LNG complex will consist of two liquefaction trains with a combined capacity of 9.6 million tpy of LNG and is designed to run on renewables and nuclear grid power, making it one of the lowest carbon-intensive LNG facilities in the world.
