ADNOC to increase efficiency

ABU DHABI, January 17, 2017 – Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) at the World Future Energy Summit on Tuesday announced plans to increase energy efficiency by 10% by 2020 in an effort to reduce gas consumption.

According to Adnoc, greater efficiency will lower gas usage by 4.42 mcm (156 mcf) and save the company USD 1 billion.

Aside from optimising energy consumption across its activities, Adnoc also said it would upgrade systems to measure and report energy use data, allowing for better energy planning.

Citing significant results already achieved, Omar Al Suwaidi, the company’s director of gas management, pointed to the goals of improving profitability and meeting rising energy demand in the emirate.
