Aker BP moves on Norwegian oil and gas plans

Norway

LYSAKER, March 22, 2023 – Aker BP has dropped the Troldhaugen project in its plans to launch production on five oil and gas plays in Norway, the Norwegian E&P player announced on Wednesday.

Plans for development were submitted to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in December 2022 for the following projects: Yggdrasil, including the Hugin, Munin and Fulla plays; Valhall PWP-Fenris; Skarv Satellites, including the Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Orn plays; and Utsira High, including the Symra and Troldhaugen plays.

These projects are estimated to hold recoverable reserves of 730 million boe.

Aker BP has invested around USD 19 million to develop the fields.

The Troldhaugen project met with a reduction in expected volume at an extended well and was removed from the company’s development schedule.

Previously the play was estimated to hold around 30 million boe.
