Plans for a Rural Electrification Agency are also outlined. The country has an overall electrification rate of 36%, but the disparities between rural and urban areas are great.
“This programme seeks to respond to these imbalances, aiming to increase the electrification rate equitably along the national territory,” the government statement read.
