Angola’s Azule Energy awards Saipem $850-million contract
LUANDA, May 17, 2024 – Saipem has been awarded a USD 850-million contract for subsea works in Angola by local BP–Eni joint venture Azule Energy, the Italian player said on Thursday.
Works will take place at the Ndungu field, part of Azule’s Agogo Integrated West Hub Project in Block 15/06, located 180 kilometres off the Angolan coast.
The scope includes the engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of approximately 60 kilometres of rigid pipelines and of the subsea facilities at a depth of around 1,100 metres, as well as the transportation and installation of flexible flowlines, jumpers and 17 kilometres of umbilicals.
Fabrication activities will be undertaken at Saipem’s Ambriz yard in Angola.
Azule made headlines earlier this month when it made its first international foray by entering Namibia’s prolific Orange Basin.
Azule Energy is an independent joint venture created in 2022 by combining BP’s and Eni’s assets in Angola and is the country’s largest independent equity producer of oil and gas.
