Azule starts production from key hub offshore Angola
LUANDA, February 20, 2026 – Azule Energy has begun production from the Ndungu full-field, part of the Agogo Integrated West Hub Project offshore Angola, parent company Eni said on Friday.
The Azule-operated project involves seven production wells and four injection wells with a peak output of 60,000 bopd. It comes just six months after first oil from the Agogo FPSO, showcasing Eni’s fast-track deepwater development strategy.
Ndungu will initially produce through the N’goma FPSO before switching to the Agogo FPSO. Combined output from the Agogo and Ndungu fields is expected to reach around 175,000 bopd. The project aligns with Angola’s national production goals and highlights Eni’s commitment to minimising emissions and time-to-market.
Azule Energy, a joint venture between Eni and bp, holds a 36.84% stake in the development, alongside Sonangol E&P (36.84%) and Sinopec International (26.32%).
Azule Energy is the largest independent equity producer of oil and gas in Angola. Formed as a joint venture between Eni and bp in 2022, it holds stakes in several key offshore blocks and is advancing multiple projects including gas monetisation and renewable energy development in the country.
“This milestone highlights Azule Energy’s operational excellence and fast-track capabilities,” Azule Energy managing director Adriano Mongini said.
