Bergen Group arbitration claim

OSLO, August 28, 2015 – Norwegian services and supply business the Bergen Group is in legal spat with an offshore drilling rig company Fred Olsen Energy affiliate after issuing a demand for a “missing final settlement” on the Borgland Dolphin platform upgrade.
The Bergen Group’s arbitration claim against the affiliate, made public in its quarterly results report, is worth NKR190 million ($23 million), relating to an alleged missing of payments for upgrade work on the Borgland Dolphin. The rig is currently the subject of several claims for non-payment from sub-contractors.
The recent claim is associated with the completion of work earlier in 2015 at the Bergen Group’s Hanoytangen facility as part of a five-year class renewal survey and upgrade on the semi-submersible platform. Work was completed in February.
According to the Norwegian contractor, the case will be heard by the court of arbitration during the second quarter of 2016.
