Brunei launches licensing round for two offshore blocks
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, February 17, 2025 – The Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam has launched the Brunei Offshore Licensing Round 2025 and is inviting expressions of interest for two offshore oil and gas blocks, the authority announced on Monday.
On offer are the 1,728-square-kilometre Block A and the 2,294-square-kilometre Block B, both located in water depths up to 100 metres near proven oil and gas fields and in the proximity of existing infrastructure and operational facilities.
The deadline for the submission of expressions of interest is April 30, 2025. Shortlisted companies will then have until January 6, 2026, to formally submit their bids. Detailed 3D seismic data covering the acreage is available for participating players, as is data on nearby well outcomes and stratigraphic insights.
“We are excited to invite all interested oil and gas companies to partake in our upcoming Brunei Offshore Licensing Round. This licensing round offers a unique opportunity to explore and develop promising hydrocarbon blocks and be part of our long-established history of hydrocarbon production,” said the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam in its announcement.
